Our HBCU-style drumline programs are designed to engage student learners, celebrate culture, and improve school climate. Students learn from a diverse team of highly qualified drumline teachers who provide a nurturing environment to strengthen their social and emotional learning competencies while transforming them into proficient, confident performers.

Training for new and emerging teachers
Our Emerging Teacher Training Program prepares drummers, musicians and artists ages 18 and up to become confident, skilled educators in only 10 sessions. Expert mentors help new teachers build the classroom management, pedagogy, and Social/Emotional Learning skills they need to earn up to $50 per hour. Since 2017, our program has trained and placed more than 70 new teachers in jobs across the city.
